The Typing Tester is a free, minimal typing speed tester. We built it because most typing tools are bloated with ads, accounts, or distracting UI. Here, you open the page, hit a key, and the test begins.

What we measure

• WPM — Standard words-per-minute (5 correct characters = 1 word).
• Accuracy — Correct keystrokes divided by total keystrokes.
• Errors — Total incorrect keystrokes during the test.

How to improve

Practice short bursts daily. Focus on accuracy before speed. Keep your fingers on the home row and avoid looking at the keyboard. Speed compounds with deliberate practice.
